Song of Thieves

Song of Thieves is a third person action adventure stealth game where you play as an infiltrator sent deep into enemy territory. Your mission is to break into a rival gang’s high-security tower and steal a mysterious device locked away in their top-floor vault. Only the most skilled infiltrators will make it to the top without being caught.

DEVELOPMENT

DESIGN

As a designer, I helped shape the movement systems to feel responsive and empowering, then designed level layouts that fully supported their use.

I designed interactive puzzles that would force the player to move around sections, challenging their stealth abilities. I also designed a “distraction system” that gave players the opportunity to use their environment to distract enemies while sneaking around

I created modular environments inspired by real-world interiors such as bars, lounges, and office spaces, each filled with opportunities for climbing, hiding, and evading. This was done to thematically tie in the hierarchy of the faction into the space itself. The “lower tier” section was inspired by dive bars, The “mid-tier” section was inspired by VIP lounges and cocktail bars. The highest section was inspired by office spaces. The levels were built with multiple paths in mind, allowing players to choose between direct confrontations, quiet detours, or creative traversal.

Programming

On Song of Thieves, I developed core gameplay systems that brought the stealth-action experience to life. I programmed the player movement system, including sprinting and parkour functionality that allowed characters to vault, climb, and traverse the environment with fluidity. These mechanics were key to supporting both stealth and vertical navigation throughout the game. I also built the enemy AI, including patrol behaviors and perception systems that allowed enemies to detect and react to the player based on line of sight and movement.
